I finally changed the front brake rotors and pads on the old jeep this past Monday. I also changed the front differential oil to the synthetic stuff. All that is left to do is change the transmission and transfer case oil to synthetic. I also plan to get this dual battery project started.

Well last Monday I flipped my front shocks due to the fact that the body of the shock was getting smashed when the front tires were stuffed in the wheel wells. It seems to absorb the bumps a little better now I think? I have seen people run their shocks in this fashion but I am not really sure if this is bad on the shocks or not. Trial and error I guess. Tomorrow I plan to remove the rear track bar that has stripped out its driver side mount. Some say go ahead and take it off you won’t know its gone, while other say it is dangerous without it, once again a little more trial and error. I also bought some Redline synthetic gear oil for the front and rear differentials. I did the rear differential a few weeks ago and I am just now getting to the front. On Monday I noticed that my rear shocks are shot. My plan is to order a rear shock mounting bar that’s made by Teraflex. It gives you the option of mounting shocks of three different lengths. That’s it.

New Mean Green starter
2-18-05
Well my starter went to crap a few days ago so I ordered a Mean Green to replace it. It has a very different sound than the OEM starter. Sounds much stronger and it fires the engine right up with no effort it seems. It claims something like 35,000 starts and is supposed to be impervious to heat and water. While it comes with a price tag of $299.99 I doubt I will ever have to buy another starter or have to worry about it failing. You have to love a good American made product.
